Interior-exterior

Tornant sobre el llibre de Wat del que vaig parlar la setmana passada i de la seva experiència del comunisme, la següent citació em sembla molt significativa del tarannà del llibre

Moreover. I had realized – this is one of the many points of view possible on communism- that communism is in fact exteriorization. Communism is the enemy of interiorization, of the inner man. If we had leftist sympathies, fantasies, fascinations and were spellbound by communism, it was because we had seen both the treachery and the danger of interiorization.. But today we know that exteriorization leads to: the killing of the inner man, and that is the essence of Stalinism. The essence of the Stalinism is the poisoning of the inner man so that it becomes shrunken the way headhunters shrink heads-those shriveled little heads- and then disappears entirely. It doesn’t even decay away inside, because the communists are afraid of inner decay. No, it should turn to dust.

Si Watt te raó caldria concloure que l’estalinisme no té res de contingència històrica, sinó que és la conseqüència directa d’allò que suposà la il·lustració, però encara més aquesta referència a la lluita entre interiorització i exteriorització a la que es refereix Wat ens permet entreveure que tot i que sembli molt lluny no hem tancar la discussió entre Plató i la sofistica.
